‘Lost us the game’ – These West Ham fans destroy one player v Brighton

West Ham United left back Arthur Masuaku is the epitome of inconsistency, and unfortunately he had one of his bad days on Saturday.

The Hammers were 3-1 up against Brighton & Hove Albion when the DR Congo international replaced Michail Antonio.

A few minutes after his introduction, though, it was 3-3, with the Seagulls somehow coming back to claim an improbable draw.

You can’t place all the blame on Masuaku, of course, and he certainly didn’t contribute as directly to a Brighton goal as, say, Issa Diop; but he clearly didn’t help.

It was no coincidence that they threw the game away once he came on, though, although manager David Moyes was partly to blame for that by changing the system when things were going well.

The left back still needs to work on his defensive awareness, something which has been the case throughout his time at the London Stadium.

The Hammers supporters clearly didn’t appreciate what he offered up on Saturday, with one of them claiming he ‘ruined’ the game for them.
