Lopetegui sack: ExWHUemployee reveals what top West Ham source has now told him

Julen Lopetegui will be given more time to turn his fortunes around at West Ham after the 2-1 win against Wolves, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Spaniard was under heavy pressure following embarrassing defeats to title-chasing Arsenal and newly-promoted Leicester.

The victory against Wolves (9 December) was crucial for Lopetegui’s future, with the 58-year-old needing a positive result to keep his place in the dugout.

However, ExWHUemployee has revealed that while the club are set to give the former Wolves man time to improve results, performances must be better or the club may decide to replace him.

Wolves win can be a turning point for West Ham

The victory on Monday evening could be a turning point in Lopetegui’s reign at the London Stadium.

The Hammers face Bournemouth, Brighton and Southampton in their next three matches and can take momentum into those games following a huge victory.

The club sit in 14th place in the Premier League, nine points above the relegation zone and six points away from the European qualification places.

Despite the victory against Wolves, the performance was unconvincing as the Hammers allowed their opponents several high-quality chances and were bailed out by controversial VAR decisions.

The visitors created a total of 1.47xG compared to the Irons’ figure of 0.97 and had more shots on target in the contest. [Fotmob]

A win is a win but Lopetegui will need to ensure that performance levels increase if he is to keep his place in the dugout.
