Lincoln City ace Lasse Sorensen predicts League Cup clash v West Ham United as ‘want it more’ claim made

Lincoln City midfielder Lasse Sorensen believes his club can cause an upset in their match against West Ham United.

The East London side take on the League One outfit in their League Cup third round clash on Wednesday (27 September).

David Moyes’s side are currently seventh in the Premier League, with their upcoming opponents sitting 13th in League One.

“It’s always 11 v 11,” Sorensen said, as quoted by BBC Sport. “Some might be the favourites and some the underdogs but if you want it more than the others, you are the ones who win it.

“You’ve always got to believe in yourself to do the thing most people think you can’t.”

Huge clash

It’s a huge clash for both clubs, with West Ham keen to get back to winning ways after successive defeats against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Moyes will be desperate to get back to winning ways, and although it may not be straightforward, the boss should be able to guide his side into the next round.

The match also represents a great opportunity for the man in the dugout to rest many of his senior players, as well as hand minutes to some of his reserve players, and some of the youngsters at the club.

For Lincoln, it’s a chance to test themselves against a Premier League club, and of course to pull off an unforgettable upset.

There will be plenty of confidence at the club after they knocked Sheffield United out of the competition in the previous round. Lincoln overcame the Blades 3-2 on penalties after their second-round clash ended in a goalless draw.

In other West Ham news, a Sky Sports pundit was blown away by an “unbelievable” moment in the clash against Liverpool.
