Leroy Rosenior believes Tammy Abraham is not a good fit for West Ham
Tammy Abraham is not the right option for West Ham, claims former Hammers striker Leroy Rosenior.
The Hammers have been linked with a new striker since Sebastien Haller’s departure in January, and have identified the Chelsea forward as one of their primary options.
David Moyes has even made the England international his number one target this summer [ExWHUEmployee], but Rosenior believes he will not cut it at West Ham.

Speaking to Claret & Hugh, he said, “He really doesn’t have Mickey Antonio’s qualities and this is a striker who has learned the role over the last few months or so.
“Tammy doesn’t link play and bring in other players – I don’t see him as the answer up front and I don’t actually believe he is the energy and athletic striker to whom the manager is usually attracted.
“I don’t think he’s the right one for us.”
Ridiculous
We get that his price tag may put us out of the race, but we’re not sure where he’s coming from regarding him not being good enough for us.
The Chelsea striker is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and even before that he did really well for Aston Villa in the Championship.
He’s a player who runs the channels and is capable of playing out wide, so we don’t really know how Rosenior is saying he doesn’t get others into the game.

Sure, he’s not the physical target man that can hold up the ball and have players running beyond him, but he’s got the raw pace and goal-scoring instinct that make him such a prolific striker.
He’s also rated highly by pundits. Speaking about him on talkSPORT, Trevor Sinclair labelled Abraham as an ‘elite’ forward.
Chelsea could looking at a fee of £30million or more for his services, so it remains be seen whether we take them up on that or commence negotiations to lower down his price.
