Leeds United winger Raphinha would consider move to West Ham United

West Ham are still interested in signing Leeds United Raphinha and they could become the main rival for Arsenal in the race to sign the Brazilian, according to a report from 90 Min.

The website reported on 22 June that Raphinha was open to moving to London Stadium in January, and he “would still consider a move” to West Ham.

However, the Brazilian dreams of joining Barcelona, and he is attracting interest from London clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.

In the last 24 hours, Arsenal have made an approach to sign the winger, as reported by The Athletic on 21 June.

The Whites have been quick to come up with a reply. David Ornstein wrote for The Atheltic on 22 June that the Yorkshire club have rejected the offer, as it is well below their valuation of the player.

Big opportunity

While Chelsea and Tottenham can offer Raphinha the taste of Champions League football, it comes as a surprise that the player still fancies a move to the Hammers.

It has been widely reported that the 25-year-old winger is ready to wait for an offer from Barcelona, but Leeds could accept an offer from the highest bidder.

90 Min adds in their report that Leeds would welcome an offer in the region of at least £55m to part ways with their talisman attacker.

The Brazilian was superb in his first season at Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa, but his stock has risen exponentially after a brilliant 2021-22 campaign.

In the absence of several key players through injuries, Leeds battled till the last day to secure Premier League survival. Raphinha almost single-handedly carried the team forward, where he bagged 11 goals in 35 outings, including a crucial penalty in the win over Brentford on the final day of the season.

He still has got two years left on his current deal at Elland Road, but the winger is unlikely to stay beyond the summer. West Ham should at least make another approach to sign him this summer.
