Lee Hendrie reacts to Said Benrahma effort in West Ham United win v Aston Villa

West Ham secured their first league win of the season after they won 1-0 against Aston Villa on Sunday (28 August) at Villa Park.

Pablo Fornals scored the only goal of the match, via a deflected effort. Lee Hendrie, who was commentating on the game, was impressed with the performance of Said Benrahma.

In the second half, just before the goal, Benrahma tried with a dipping effort from distance. Hendrie, the Sky Sports pundit, was stunned by the amount of space provided to Benrahama for that effort.

“How on earth did he generate or had the space to just go and drive in, strike from Benrahma, going for a dip in,” said Hendrie (70 min), who also works for Sky Sports, on Premier League Tv productions.

Dilemma

Benrahma has played really well after coming in the second half and he did have a strong influence on the game.

There in lies, the big dilemma, as pointed out by David Moyes after the game.

The Algerian lacks consistency. He has shown time and again that he is a player who has got loads of quality.

At times, he looks unplayable, but there are occasions where he has let the team down. That is indeed frustrating, and it becomes difficult for any manager to keep absolute faith in him.

There were suggestions that he could leave the club this summer, but it seems Moyes wants to give him another opportunity to prove his worth.

West Ham have bolstered their squad this summer, with Moyes adding depth in various areas.

Lucas Paqueta is likely to join in the next few days after he has completed his medical. It remains to be seen if West Ham bring in one or two more players before the window ends.
