Lee Hendrie blown away by West Ham ace Declan Rice v Aston Villa
Lee Hendrie has insisted that West Ham midfielder Declan Rice was “absolutely immense” against Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old produced yet another superb action-packed display as the Hammers won 2-1 against Villa at the London Stadium on Sunday (13 March).
Andriy Yarmolenko and Pablo Fornals scored for the home side, while Jacob Ramsey pulled one back for the visitors.

Hendrie, who also works for Sky Sports, said while commentating on the game for the Premier League Tv production: “You’ve to give credit to Declan Rice. His determination.
“But not just that. He takes John McGinn out of the game. Declan Rice, absolutely immense in midfield.”
Superb
Rice has been magnificent throughout the season. He is the driving force in the midfield and produced yet another solid performance against Villa.
In the first half, Villa remained tight at the back and allowed little room for West Ham players to create chances. Rice was kept quiet.
After the break, and especially after Yarmolenko’s goal, the game opened up a bit. Rice started to dominate in the middle and he was instrumental behind the second goal, scored by Fornals.
With a brilliant skill, he took McGinn out of the equation, made his signature run from deep and opened the Villa defence completely.

He passed the ball on to Said Benrahma who delivered a brilliant cross for Fornals. The Spaniard slotted the ball past Emi Martinez, who didn’t have a better view of the shot as he was slightly blocked by Tyrone Mings.
In terms of defensive output, Rice made one tackle, two interceptions and three clearances, as per Who Scored.
In other West Ham news, Declan Rice can’t settle with the Irons out of loyalty – Dean Jones.
