Lazio keen on signing Felipe Anderson on loan w/ option to buy – report
Lazio are working on a deal to bring back West Ham attacker Felipe Anderson this summer.
Per Ekrem Konur, the Serie A side are keen on signing the Brazilian on a loan this summer with an option to buy him for £8.5million next season.
Anderson is understood to be looking forward to returning to Italy and working under former Chelsea and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri in the 2021/22 campaign.
Having signed for a staggering club-record fee of £35million, potentially rising to £42million [The Telegraph], the 28-year-old will undoubtedly go down as a flop at the club with West Ham making a huge loss from his sale.
Good riddance
Anybody who’s watched Anderson play this past season on loan at FC Porto, and even last season at the club, would tell you that he’s not cut out for Premier League football.
He may have the flair that makes him look like a dazzling wide attacker, but in reality, he just does not have the end product that can make you rely on him to get you goals and assists.
When he joined the club from Lazio, the expectations on him to take this team to the next level were sky-high, and it’s fair to say that he has failed on all counts.
Back then, he was referred to as a ‘terrific talent’ by Robert Snodgrass. [One Football]

As things stand, we’re set to make almost a £30million loss on his transfer and that’s without taking into account his £50,000-per-week wages at the London Stadium. [Lance]
While we’re happy that Anderson is finally leaving the club as it’s in his best interests just as it is in ours, but we’re not happy about the financials behind the deal.
Hopefully, this is a wake up call to the decision makers that such deals are one of the major reasons why it’s taken so long to break into the top six.
