Laura Woods stunned by West Ham United star Declan Rice v Kidderminster

Laura Woods was left stunned by West Ham United star Declan Rice in the 2-1 win over Kidderminster on Saturday.

The talkSPORT host singled out the England international for single-handily turning the FA Cup clash on its head.

Rice scored the last-gasp equaliser to send the game to extra-time where Jarrod Bowen tapped home the winner.

Speaking live on talkSPORT Breakfast this morning (07 February), Woods singled out special praise for the midfielder.

“It was a brilliant performance by Declan Rice,” she said.

“To step up and do it when those around you couldn’t, real heartbreak for Kidderminster.”

The best.

Wow, if you weren’t a fan of Rice by now (somehow) – Saturday will have turned your head, no matter who it was against.

Kidderminster were superb and deserve huge credit, but it was our midfield maestro who came on and grasped the game by the scruff of the neck when his teammates simply couldn’t.

Rice was heads and shoulders above anyone on the pitch and got the goal that he deserved in the final seconds.

The Irons should have been doing all they can to sign some big players in January, not only to strengthen the squad, but to prove to Rice we have the ambition to kick on to the next level.

Instead, it was down to him to save us and along with no signings, it brings big doubt surrounding his future.

No matter what happens, we have to appreciate Rice while we can and this was the latest example of just how good he truly is.
