Laura Woods defends West Ham fans after Simon Jordan’s ‘we are massive’ swipe
Laura Woods has rushed to the defence of West Ham supporters after ex-Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan ridiculed them on Tuesday morning.
Jordan criticised their ‘we are massive’ tag on the ‘White and Jordan’ show on talkSPORT [09/11/21]. He said: “Their achievements are massive at this moment in time, in comparison with West Ham’s achievements of recent times.
“But that doesn’t make them massive, by comparison to clubs who are really, genuinely, bona fide massive.

“What we’re saying, really, by looking at this, is are you getting a bit ahead of yourselves?”
Woods hit back on her talkSPORT [10/11/21] show a day later. She said: “Simon Jordan, who usually has his finger on the pulse, understands lots of things, doesn’t quite understand this I don’t think.
“What West Ham fans are referring to when they say ‘we are massive’ is actually something that is quite self-deprecating.
“It’s meant to be funny.
“A bit like when England fans sing ‘it’s coming home’, we don’t actually think it’s coming home until it genuinely might be coming home.”
Ally McCoist added: “Good on them.”

Painful from Jordan
It really shouldn’t have to be explained to Jordan that this is merely a joke from fans at their own expense.
West Ham supporters have endured some dismal years following their team with a mixture of a lack of investment and poor signings.
They have punched well below their weight at times, with time spent in the second-tier, but David Moyes has now got the Irons back on track and they are troubling the so-called elite-level sides in the Premier League now.
Sunday’s 3-2 win over Liverpool saw them leapfrog the Reds into third place and there is a real expectancy now that they can challenge for Champions League qualification this season.
They are also top of the Europa League group and into the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
In other West Ham news, Rio Ferdinand has made an Irons transfer prediction after a £50million claim.
