Kurt Zouma to face West Ham internal disciplinary hearing

Kurt Zouma will face an internal hearing at West Ham on the charge of violence against animals, according to reports from The Atheltic.

The French defender was filmed kicking and slapping his pet cat.

Zouma’s brother uploaded the footage on Snapchat where the Hammers defender was seen dropping his cat from chest height, and kicking it as it lands.

The defender was seen chasing the cat around the living room, and threw a pair of shoes at the cat, before slapping it in the face.

West Ham have already condemned (via Simon Stone on Twitter) the behaviour on Monday and now the defender is facing an internal hearing.

Unacceptable

This is unacceptable behaviour and the club must deal with it internally.

The player has apologised already, saying he deeply regrets his behaviour.

Although he has assured that the cats are loved by his family and that the behaviour was an isolated incident which he vows that will never happen again.

The fact that he has apologised publicly could see him avoid a big punishment from the club.

He is unlikely to be suspended for a few games or even for the rest of the season, but the club can give him a strong warning while he can be fined as well.

Zouma has made 15 appearances for the Hammers this season. He has just returned from a long injury lay-off, missing as many as 11 games.

West Ham will face Watford in the Premier League on Tuesday evening at the London Stadium.
