Kieran McKenna new contract touted at Ipswich Town amid West Ham United links
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that Ipswich Town will do everything to keep Kieran McKenna at Portman Road amid links with the West Ham job.
According to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons [13 February], the Ipswich boss was said to be a potential replacement for David Moyes at the London Stadium, yet no move has come to fruition.
McKenna has done a brilliant job with the Tractor Boys this season and looks likely to lead them to Premier League promotion via the Championship automatic spots.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Thursday [2 May, 7:09am], Brazil said: “Let’s say West Ham knocked on the door for him…”
Agbonlahor replied, saying: “He could come up with Ipswich, get relegated in bottom spot and then still get himself a very good club – or stay at Ipswich.
“He’s not going to leave a team that’s been promoted twice. Come on. Not a prayer will he do that. Ipswich will do all they can – a new contract, transfer promises – to keep him at the club.”
Could Kieran McKenna replace David Moyes at West Ham United?
While the Ipswich boss would be an incredible replacement for Moyes at the London Stadium, it would be difficult to see him take the job after leading Ipswich to the Premier League.
McKenna is looking to achieve back-to-back promotions with the Tractor Boys, having secured second place in League One during the 2022/23 campaign.
Having battled with Leicester City and Leeds United for the entirety of the current season, Ipswich now look very likely to achieve automatic promotion from the Championship.
This makes a switch to the London Stadium highly unlikely, and with the number of high-calibre names also being linked with the Hammers job, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Julen Lopetegui and Paulo Fonseca are both said to be targets for West Ham ahead of the summer, both of which have experiences that could benefit the London side next season.
While Moyes deserves his plaudits for leading the club to its first European trophy in the last few decades, football is a results-based sport and those results have been far from ideal this season.
