Kaveh Solhekol shares really concerning West Ham update on Sky Sports
Kaveh Solhekol believes the West Ham United board feel their current situation “can’t go on” with Julen Lopetegui struggling.
The Sky Sports journalist thinks the Hammers are in a “concerning” position, with the hierarchy at London Stadium disappointed that the team’s fighting relegation after the investment made in the summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports News [5 December, 17:03], Solhekol said: “It’s really concerning. The board are sat there watching, thinking, ‘This can’t go on.’ We are heading for a relegation scrap at the moment when we’ve invested so much money to challenge in Europe again.”
After the loss to Leicester City at the King Power on 3 December, the East London club are 14th in the Premier League table, just six points above 18th place Ipswich Town.
West Ham United need to expedite Julen Lopetegui decision
The writing has been on the wall for Lopetegui for some time now, with the Spaniard managing just four wins in the English top flight since taking charge of the Hammers.
David Sullivan and other members of the hierarchy need to realise their mistake and cut ties with the 58-year-old as soon as possible.
But it looks like the Irons’ board will give Lopetegui another shot, with the Spanish head coach expected to be in the dugout for the Wolves clash on 9 December at home [Fabrizio Romano, 5 December].
West Ham could be in for a reckoning at London Stadium against Gary O’Neil’s team, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the home fans voicing their discontent on the day.

The Hammers’ faithful have already made their feelings regarding Lopetegui known, chanting for him to be sacked at King Power.
Wolves are struggling in the current campaign, and a loss against them would certainly spell the end of the former Sevilla manager’s tenure with the East London outfit.
Lopetegui should’ve been relieved of his duties a few back, and at this point, it feels like his sacking is a matter of when and not if.
In other West Ham news, Erik ten Hag has been named as the search for Lopetegui’s successor is in full swing.
