Karren Brady wage increase likely after new West Ham reveal

Karren Brady is likely to have had an increase in wages at West Ham United, according to Kieran Maguire.

Reviewing the Irons’ latest financial report for the year ending 31 May 2024 on his personal X account (31 December), the finance expert noted that the club’s highest-paid director had a six per cent increase in earnings, banking £1.43million.

Although the name of the person is not revealed, Maguire mooted it to be vice-chairman Brady, who he dubbed as the “full-time delayer of the football governance bill” in the House of Lords.

West Ham financial report highlights Karren Brady wage rise

The highest-paid director’s earnings in the previous financial year stood at £1.35m, meaning it rose by £80,000 last term.

Brady getting a wage rise at the London Stadium will certainly not sit well with fans, who do not view her in high regard by any means.

The House of Lords member has come in for a lot of criticism for West Ham’s ticket pricing policies, with changes to concessions drawing a major backlash.

There is no doubt that supporters will be infuriated to see Brady get a pay rise amid increasing ticket prices.

The change does not affect the Hammers in the grand scheme of things as their net profit before tax for the last fiscal year stood at £57.2m, with Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal playing a major role.

They also posted a turnover of £267.9m, a £33m increase from the previous year.

David Sullivan and co will be delighted with how healthy the club’s finances are at the moment.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are now in a fight with league champions to sign this target in January.
