Karren Brady shares what Fullkrug asked as soon as he signed for West Ham United

Niclas Fullkrug immediately asked where he could train after he completed his transfer to West Ham United, according to Karren Brady.

The German international is one of eight new additions Julen Lopetegui has made to the Hammers squad ahead of his first season in charge at the London Stadium as he looks to his the ground running.

Fullkrug’s arrival has been met with universal praise from pundits and supporters alike and Irons’ chief Brady has sung the striker’s praises insisting that he is going to have a “hugely positive impact”.

Writing for The Sun on Friday (16 August) she said: “I was really impressed with Niclas Fullkrug — our new striker signed from Borussia Dortmund.

“As soon as he stepped off the plane from Germany he asked: ‘Where can I train? Because I don’t like to miss a single day.’

“That’s the kind of attitude that you want. He’s a big personality, incredibly professional, a strong individual and a real grown-up. He’s going to have a hugely positive impact. We’re all really excited.”

Will Niclas Fullkrug start for West Ham against Aston Villa after summer transfer?

While Brady was never likely going to use her newspaper column to suggest one of West Ham’s new signings is completely useless, this sort of update should be music to the ears of every Hammers supporter.

Lopetegui and Tim Steidten had made it their mission to finally solve the striker problem in East London this summer after years of signing duds and reliance on Michail Antonio at the top end of the pitch.

While Fullkrug is yet to make his competitive bow in a claret and blue shirt, his record speaks for itself and his displays in this summer’s Euros showed that he can perform and find the net on the biggest possible stage.

If he can replicate those sorts of performances in the Premier League, the Hammers will have finally found their reliable number nine and Brady and the supporter’s excitement will be totally vindicated.

Signing players with the right mentality and attitude is just as important as them being good players and the German international’s dedication on and off the field shows that he is mentally equipped to hit the ground running.
