Karen Carney blown away by what David Moyes has done at West Ham

Karen Carney has showered praise on West Ham boss David Moyes saying he has done an “unbelievable” job at the club.

The Hammers will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-final of the Europa League on Thursday, and it’s a huge occasion for the club.

David Moyes’ side has picked up only two wins from their last seven games but they’re aiming to go further in this competition.

“It’s unbelievable. When he first came in they were at times fighting for relegation,” said Carney to BBC Football Daily Podcast.

“They spent their money really carefully and played really good football with the best set of players, and the potential to get into the final and that could lead to Champions League football.

“That is what all West Ham fans want. To do that, it would be unbelievable.”

Huge game

It’s pretty clear that the Hammers are putting all their eggs now in one basket.

They have almost given up their hopes of securing a European place by finishing high up the table in the Premier League.

If they can win the competition, it will open the door for them to play in the Champions League, and the club will have a great opportunity to build something for the future.

It will also give Moyes the strong foothold to convince his top players like Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen to stay put and help the club move forward.

The first leg is always tricky. With the away goal rule now scrapped, it doesn’t make any difference over the two-legged tie.

West Ham will have to play their best football to take a healthy lead at home, before finishing it off in Germany.

Rice, Bowen and Michail Antonio didn’t start against Chelsea, and they will be relatively fresh for this crucial game.
