West Ham United star Kalvin Phillips has been spotted swearing at a supporter following the Hammers' defeat to Newcastle United at St James' Park.

David Moyes' side threw away a lead in the north east on Saturday (30 March) as 10-man Newcastle came from behind to score three second-half goals and claim all three points with an impressive 4-3 win.

All three of the home side's goals came after the introduction of Phillips in the second half and supporters and pundits were quick to slam the midfielder's display and he has hit back following the full-time whistle.

In a video posted to X by Whucentre (30 March), a fan calls the Manchester City fan "useless" as he climbs onto the team bus and Phillips quickly fires a swear back at the supporter as he makes his way to his seat.

Will West Ham United sign Kalvin Phillips permanently in the summer transfer window?

There can't have been many transfers that have turned this sour, this quickly in the history of the Premier League, but it is safe to say that Phillips' loan switch to the London Stadium has been nothing short of a disaster so far.

The England international can seemingly not do anything right in a claret and blue shirt. While he was unlucky to give away a penalty at St James' Park, he failed to have a positive impact on proceedings for yet another game.

There had been suggestions that Moyes and the recruitment team in East London would be keen to take the City loanee on a permanent basis come the end of the season, but it is hard to see how they could justify such a move now.

Hopefully, the penny will drop sooner rather than later and either Moyes will stop playing the England international, or he'll finally find his feet at West Ham because, at the moment, he has looked miles off of the pace.
