Kalvin Phillips reacts as West Ham United done deal emerges
Kalvin Phillips has sent a message of support to Crysencio Summerville after his departure from Leeds United to West Ham United was confirmed.
In an Instagram post on Saturday (3 August), Summerville said goodbye to Leeds fans as his move to London Stadium was signed off.
Summerville finally signed on the dotted line to complete his transfer away from the play-off final runners-up in a deal thought to be worth an initial £24million (Fabrizio Romano, 3 August).
Ex-West Ham loanee Phillips send a short but sweet message to Summerville as he heads for the capital.
Phillips said: “All the best little bro!”
Crysencio Summerville a great signing for West Ham
As we know, Phillips came to London Stadium on loan last season from Premier League champions Manchester City.
While it didn’t exactly go to plan, David Moyes handed him the opportunity to get some first-team football under his belt for the first time in a long time.
The England international, as was the case with Summerville, also entered the limelight during his time with Leeds.
While they’re two very different players, it’ll be interesting to see how the youngster transitions to life back in the big time – especially after such an emphatic campaign in the Championship.
In just 43 league appearances, Summerville scored 19 goals and assisted nine (FBref).

There’s something to be said for carrying momentum into your next venture, and while Phillips came to the Irons on a low, Crysencio is white hot.
Hopefully there’s a difference in fortunes, especially with a forward-thinking manager like Julen Lopetegui now in charge at London Stadium.
