Juventus and West Ham in talks over the sale of Weston McKennie

Juventus have intensified negotiations with West Ham United as they look to sell midfielder Weston McKennie, according to Tuttosport.

The Old Lady manager Massimiliano Allegri does not have the USA international in his plans for the season and has already asked the club to bring in Axel Witsel from Borussia Dortmund as a replacement.

Juve are in talks with the Hammers and a couple of other Premier League sides in order to get the 22-year-old off their wage bill this summer.

West Ham

Solid player

West Ham want to strengthen their squad in the remaining days left in the transfer window and are closing in on a move for Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma.

David Moyes would love to bolster other departments too and landing a versatile player like McKennie could be huge as it would potentially solve a lot of problems.

The American plays primarily as a central midfielder but can also line up as an attacking midfielder, a defensive midfielder and a centre-back.

It appears the goal is the only position where the Juve man has not played in before because he featured at full-back and as a striker while at Schalke.

He probably would not be able to play like an expert in all of those positions, but he can be an answer during emergency situations and provide quality cover if need be.

West Ham

The Irons were linked with a couple of midfielders earlier in the summer, and they should be looking to get a deal done for a younger version of Liverpool’s utility man James Milner.

West Ham are offering European football and looking to challenge for silverware this term, and that could be enough to convince McKennie to move to the London Stadium.
