Jurgen Klopp praises West Ham ahead of Premier League clash

West Ham face Liverpool on Sunday and Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on the Hammers ahead of the Premier League clash.

The Irons have been one of the standout sides in the top flight this term, going into Sunday’s fixture fourth in the table and just two points behind Klopp’s side in third.

And ahead of the top-of-the-table clash, the Liverpool boss didn’t hold back with his praise for David Moyes’ side while speaking to the Mirror.

“Honestly, it’s really good what West Ham is doing. I think everybody who watches them sees that,” he said. He went on to show his admiration for the development of the club’s style of play from predictable to all-encompassing.

“In the past when you played West Ham they defended deep and we had to be really aware of set-pieces and counter-attacks. Now, it’s the full package, absolutely full package,” he affirmed.

Predicting the outcome of the tie, Klopp wouldn’t give too much away.

“They are in a really good moment, It will be a really good game, I’m pretty sure. We are in a good moment, they are in a good moment… and I’m really excited to play it. It will be a tough one,” he concluded.

Tight encounter

Apart from the Manchester derby, this is without a doubt the standout fixture in this weekend’s round of Premier League matches.

West Ham

The Hammers have been outstanding this season, and heading into a clash with Klopp’s Liverpool just two points behind and sitting in the Champions League places goes to show their progression and quality as a squad.

It will, of course, be a mammoth task to overcome such formidable opposition. The Hammers’ opposition on Sunday is yet to be beaten in any competition this campaign, having won five of their last six – a victory against Atletico Madrid the most recent.

With this in mind, West Ham’s brilliant form will be tough to maintain by the time the final whistle goes on Sunday afternoon. What is certain, however, is that the performance won’t be lacklustre.

Moyes has got his Hammers busting their lungs and putting their hearts into every performance and the results have shown. West Ham are unbeaten in six and, like Liverpool, have won five of those.

It will be a very tough and evenly-fought out contest but, with the desire, spirit and undeniable quality on show, the Irons are more than capable of at least matching their visitors on Sunday.

In other West Ham news, Klopp has spoken about Liverpool-linked Jarrod Bowen ahead of Sunday’s fixture.
