Julen Lopetegui sack: West Ham sound out two new managers already
West Ham have sounded out Edin Terzic and Graham Potter as uncertainty grows over Julen Lopetegui’s future, according to The Times.
The newspaper reported via its website [6 January] that it is unclear whether the Spaniard will be in charge ahead of the Hammers’ Premier League clash with Fulham on 14 January.
This news comes after Tim Steidten was asked to stay away from the club’s training ground, with the technical director’s relationship with the head coach has deteriorated over the last few weeks [The Telegraph].
Julen Lopetegui at risk of West Ham United sacking already
Upon arriving at the London Stadium, the passionate supporters made their feelings rather clear after David Sullivan finally parted ways with David Moyes.
While many called for the Scot to be sacked ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, those same fans were extremely unhappy with the decision to bring Lopetegui to East London as a replacement.
Since then, results have been far from ideal, seeing the Hammers fall to 14th in the Premier League tables, conceding the fourth-highest goals in the division and frustrating the entire fanbase.
With no European football to focus on, Lopetegui and his team have fallen far below the expectations of fans and the owner, which could see him sacked after just six months on the job.
Leaking goals has been one of the biggest issues under the new head coach, with the Hammers shipping three or more goals in nine games across all competitions.

Owners often make decisions based on the atmosphere around the stadium, and if the London Stadium feeling is saying anything to Sullivan, Lopetegui will certainly gone by the next Premier League clash.
There is just one match between now and that home game, facing Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Friday 10 January, and even if the Hammers claim victory, it seems like Lopetegui’s future is already sealed.
