Julen Lopetegui sack twist: West Ham in advanced talks after Rush Green news
West Ham are in advanced talks with Graham Potter to replace Julen Lopetegui but have sounded out alternatives, according to Miguel Delaney.
The Independent journalist (7 January) reports that the Spaniard’s position at the club is untenable despite him taking training at Rush Green with the Hammers keen to appoint Potter.
The East London club face competition for the former Chelsea man from Everton and Delaney states that he could be tempted by the opportunity to take over at Goodison Park.
The Irons have also sounded out former Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier and held an interest in Sergio Conceicao before he went to Milan.
West Ham need to move quickly to get Potter
Interest from Premier League rivals Everton means that the Hammers will need to move quickly to get their number one target.
The Irons cannot afford to lose out on Potter if he is the man that they believe should take over in the dugout.
The East Londoners need to get the new man in before they start to make transfers to improve the squad and try to save their season.

They currently find themselves in 14th place in the Premier League, ten points behind a potential European qualification spot, which was the aim before the season started.
Potter is probably the best available manager for the job right now, given his work at Brighton before the failed move to Chelsea.
One thing is for sure, Lopetegui cannot continue at the London Stadium, his race has been run and he has shown that he is not the right man for the club.
In other West Ham news, Potter could have a sizeable transfer kitty if he is appointed by the Hammers.
