Julen Lopetegui sack: Jamie O’Hara aims instant David Moyes dig at West Ham

West Ham United have been mocked by Jamie O’Hara as they consider sacking Julen Lopetegui.

Taking to his personal X account (6 January), the pundit wrote “Irons” in an exaggerated manner and posted a total of five laughing emojis, while also mentioning Moyes.

David Sullivan’s decision to let Moyes go in the summer despite initially offering him a contract extension attracted criticism from some fans and pundits.

O’Hara is among those who spoke out against the call. The talkSPORT pundit tore the East London outfit apart for the same as recently as October.

Therefore, it is no surprise that the former Tottenham ace is happy to see the Hammers’ decision to hire Lopetegui backfire.

While the Lopetegui plan may have backfired, West Ham were probably right to part ways with Moyes at the end of last season.

The Scot had probably done everything he could do with the Irons outfit and the time was right for both the parties to go in different directions.

However, it has now become clear that Sullivan made a mistake when he picked Lopetegui as the man to replace Moyes.

The majority owner hoped the Spanish tactician would take West Ham to greater heights, but that has clearly not worked out.

Graham Potter is expected to be named as the replacement for Lopetegui now, with the Englishman likely to take charge until the end of the season.

In other West Ham news, a transfer exit is already on the cards at the London Stadium this month with talks over a deal progressing.
