Journalist Tom Clark shares Declan Rice update amid Man Utd interest
West Ham have issued a hands-off warning to Manchester United over Declan Rice, according to Football.London.
Man United are said to be interested but according to journalist Tom Clark, West Ham’s position on the 22-year-old is the same as ever – he is not for sale.
The update comes in response to a report suggesting Rice is interested in moving to Old Trafford, and even asked Man United players about the club while on England duty [Manchester Evening News].
Clark, a Football.London journalist, said, “[I] understand that West Ham stance unchanged on Declan Rice despite reports he sounded out Manchester United lads while on England duty.”
Transfer saga
Per Football.London, Chelsea’s interest in Rice has subsided only to be replaced by the Red Devils – owned by the Billionaire Glazer family.
We have come to expect the transfer talk but it is irritating to hear of false reports that suggest Rice is angling for a move.
He is simply not that type of person and is 100% committed to the club – his conduct in interviews and on social media says as much.
And there is little reason for him to leave.
He is a key part of a successful team and could be playing Champions League football at the one club that gave him a chance to prove himself.
Rice is also central to Gareth Southgate’s England plans and he is getting better and better.
A move to Man United, where the pressure will intensify, could disrupt his career – there is no guarantee he would play ahead of Paul Pogba or Fred either.
So while this transfer saga will likely rumble throughout the summer, we are confident Rice will still be an Iron by the end of it.
