Journalist receives mixed views on West Ham United bid to sign Terem Moffi

West Ham United are not thought to be in the race to sign Terem Moffi but journalist Ryan Taylor is receiving different views from different sources.

Lorient have already rejected two bids for the 10-goal striker this month, one of which came in from the Irons’ Premier League rivals Southampton.

Moffi, a Nigerian international is attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League in January but sources of Taylor’s appear to be contradicting each other.

“Lorient have already rejected two bids for highly-coveted striker Terem Moffi this month, one was submitted by Southampton,” Taylor said via his personal Twitter account.

“Told nothing in West Ham links at this stage but separate sources saying otherwise. Other Premier League clubs thought to be keen on Nigerian frontman.”

Avoid

With so many clubs now taking an interest in Moffi, his price is going to keep creeping up until there is only one side left in the hunt and they will be woefully over-paying for him.

He may well be having a good season so far in Ligue 1 having helped Lorient into the top six of France’s top division but West Ham need somebody who can guarantee goals in the Premier League.

West Ham

Moffi does not offer that guarantee no matter how well he might be doing n France right now and David Moyes does not have the money on hand to waste on such a risk.

The Scot would be better off trying to put his faith in the squad he has at the London Stadium already because they are certainly far better than a relegation scrap on paper.

Things at Rush green are far from rosy but the last thing they need to do is make their one big January transfer a risky piece of business in their current predicament.
