Jose Mourinho wants to be new West Ham manager amid Graham Potter sack update
Graham Potter’s spell as West Ham manager could be set to come to a dramatic end.
West Ham’s 3-2 loss against Wolves in the Carabao Cup was their third consecutive loss to kick off Potter’s first full campaign in charge of the East London outfit.
With fan favourites like Jarrod Bowen seen arguing with supporters after the game, the atmosphere surrounding the Hammers could be set to turn even more toxic with a defeat to Nottingham Forest this weekend.
With Potter’s position under scrutiny by the fanbase, a blockbuster move to bring Jose Mourinho back to the Premier League is exactly what West Ham may need to turn their fortunes around.

Jose Mourinho shares thoughts on West Ham job after Fenerbache sacking
Jeff Stelling feels Potter should be given more time to turn things around with the Hammers, but even the most staunch defender of Potter may have changed their outlook after the latest announcement regarding Mourinho.
- Potter’s record in charge of West Ham has been appalling
- The English manager has won just five of his 22 competitive games in charge
- Potter’s men have conceded 11 goals in their first three matches to begin the new season
According to reports from indykaila News on X on 29 August, Mourinho is said to want to be the next manager of West Ham or Nottingham Forest after the Portuguese icon was recently sacked by Fenerbache.
With Nuno Espirito Santo’s position at Forest being uncertain, West Ham may have to pull the trigger quickly and sack Potter if they want to beat the competition and bring the ‘special one’ to West Ham.
West Ham need to act swiftly to bring in Jose Mourinho
Whilst people may claim that Mourinho is past his best as a manager and he is not a long-term solution, these claims are undoubtedly correct.
However, as it currently stands, West Ham look set to be in a relegation battle this season, and Mourinho would almost certainly shore them up at the back and help them avoid the drop.
If David Sullivan and Co. can bring in the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager before deadline day, Mourinho’s stature in the game alone will attract new signings to West Ham.
It’s clear that the Potter experiment has failed, and to make it up to the fanbase, West Ham have the opportunity to go out and secure one of the greatest managers of all time.
