John Terry ‘impressed’ by three West Ham stars in 1-0 win v Wolves

West Ham picked up a massive three points in their bid for European qualification as they narrowly beat Wolves 1-0 at the London Stadium.

Birthday boy Tomas Soucek scored the only goal of the game on the hour mark to put five points between the Irons and their visitors in the race for the top four.

It was far from a vintage game of football with neither side creating any chances but David Moyes will be delighted that it was his side who were able to bundle home the winner.

Former Chelsea defender John Terry was highly impressed by three Hammers’ stars having watched from home and took to Twitter to express his views.

“Very impressed with West Ham and what David Moyes is doing. Lukasz Fabianski, Kurt Zouma and Declan Rice all superb,” he said.

Biggest win of the season

Before the season began, Wolves at home might not have been pencilled in as West Ham’s most important game of the year.

The unknown of a new manager at Molineux after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo meant no one knew what the expect from the Black Country club.

West Ham

They have been magnificent this season though and Moyes knew he had to be smart to find a way to beat them.

And he did, even if it was far from pretty, he got the three points and when the season comes to a close, that will be all anyone remembers from this dull affair.

It might also be the game that simultaneously confirms the Irons’ Champions League challenge while derailing Wolves’ which cannot go ignored.

In other West Ham news, one of the Irons’ star players this season was only rated 4/10 in our player ratings against Wolves.
