Joey Barton destroys West Ham United man after what he did at London Stadium
Joey Barton has slammed Mark Warburton and suggested the former QPR boss is responsible for West Ham United’s poor form.
Barton played under Warburton at Rangers, but only featured eight times and eventually left the club after just five months.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun (17 April), Barton has claimed the Hammers’ bad form is down to Warburton’s presence at the London Stadium.

“But look at what’s happened to Mark Warburton since we went our separate ways,” said Barton.
“It’s been a case of sacked, sacked, sacked. Now he’s a first-team coach at West Ham and look what’s happened to David Moyes since he arrived.”
No one is listening
Considering Barton’s controversial career, these comments can be taken with a big pinch of salt. The former midfielder should probably concentrate on his own managerial commitments at Bristol Rovers. Warburton has managed some big clubs in his time and has also had success.
We are sure he is fairly unmoved by Barton’s comments. Furthermore, the timing of this interview is fairly ironic, considering West Ham have just produced their most impressive performance of the season. The 2-2 draw against Arsenal showed this side still has the ability to compete with the Premier League’s best.

David Moyes will be hoping the draw against Mikel Arteta’s men is the start of the Hammers finally pulling away from the bottom three. There’s been plenty of inconsistency during the 2022/23 season, but there can be no doubt this group of players do have what it takes to be a competitive top-half side.
For now, West Ham’s attention is firmly on their Europa League tie against Gent on Thursday evening (20 April).
