Joe Worrall would be perfect for West Ham

West Ham need to bolster their defence in the summer transfer window having failed to land any player in January.

Angelo Ogbonna is expected to return next season but doubts remain whether he could play the leading role again after such a long-term injury.

Kurt Zouma has been brilliant, while Issa Diop has impressed in recent games. Craig Dawson can still be a valuable squad player, which means there’s room for another defender.

David Moyes must not look for big-name players, rather he should consider signing someone who is young and has the potential to grow.

According to reports from Claret and Hugh, the Hammers are keeping a close eye on Nottingham Forest defender, Joe Worrall.

Moyes has a track record of signing players from the Championship, and they have done extremely well. The likes of Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen are prime examples.

So, it won’t be a surprise if Moyes brings in another in-form player from the Championship next summer.

West Ham

Worrall has impressed heavily for Forest this season. He is an old-school type defender, who loves to tackle and make clearances.

He reads the game well and is very good at blocking. Worrall averages 1.8 tackles per game, and 2.0 interceptions, as per Who Scored.

Worrall produced an impressive display in the 4-1 win against Leicester in the FA Cup this season.

He may not be the shiny toy in the market, but he would do a very good job. He ticks all the boxes and would be perfect for the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie was baffled by what Moyes did against Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
