Jesse Lingard update to West Ham shut down by C&H
It was reported by The Athletic this morning that West Ham United couldn’t afford to £30million asking price to Manchester United for Jesse Lingard.
The Irons have been desperate to make the move permanent during this window, but haven’t been successful in their efforts so far.
Claret and Hugh have been sharing updates along the way, and have responded to those claims this morning.

It was an update that Irons fans will love to hear as well.
Hugh Southon has suggested that the report is so far off the mark it could be described as “nonsense.”
The report suggests that Manchester United would never demand that type of money for a player with only one year left on his deal.
It is suggested that a more realistic price could slash that figure by 50%, with £15million-£20million a fair price.

Do it.
If that was the case, this deal would surely have been done already.
Contrasting reports continue to surface in this saga, with the Red Devils likely just trying to get as much money as they possibly can.
It is well known that our budget will be nowhere near the likes of the other clubs competing in Europe next season, but surely this would be a bargain.
When reading £30million, you automatically believe there is no chance, but now there are chances of that being slashed by 50%, it is a no brainer.
Lingard single-handily carried us at times towards the end of last season, and surely he would love the chance to continue that journey.
Time will tell, but hopefully, we can expect some movement sooner rather than later at the London Stadium.
