Jesse Lingard training with West Ham United, short-term contract not ruled out – Sky Sports
Free agent Jesse Lingard has been training with West Ham on Monday (14 August) after his contract with Nottingham Forest expired, according to Sky Sports.
The publication reported on its website on Monday that the 30-year-old is training with the Hammers to keep his fitness up.
There is, however, the “small possibility” that a short-term contract could be on the cards for the 30-year-old, Sky Sports added.

“Jesse Lingard has been training with West Ham United today,” according to Sky Sports. “We are told it’s to keep his fitness up.
“However, the small possibility of a short-term contract has not been ruled out. Lingard is a free agent after his contract at Nottingham Forest expired at the end of last season.”

Return on the cards?
West Ham supporters need no reminder of what Lingard did during his loan spell in East London in the 2020/21 season.
The attacker joined on a short-term deal from Manchester United, starring in claret and blue with nine goals and five assists from his 16 appearances.
West Ham manager David Moyes is clearly keen to add more new faces to his squad, and he could now try and strengthen in the final third after the signatures of midfielders Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.
Lingard last featured on the pitch for Nottingham Forest, having joined Steve Cooper’s side last summer on a one-year contract.
He scored twice and registered two assists from his 20 appearances before being released at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen just how effective he is at the age of 30, but West Ham may just be persuaded to give the attacker one final chance to prove his worth in this season’s Premier League.
In other West Ham news, an exit development has emerged regarding a player the Hammers want to sign this summer.
