Jesse Lingard still hopes to secure West Ham United move
Jesse Lingard is still hoping that West Ham will come up with another offer and that a deal can be reached, as per ExWHUemployee.
The former Manchester United player appears to be heading towards Nottingham Forest. Writing on his Patreon on 21 July, Ex suggests that West Ham’s confidence has dwindled.
Lingard’s father is trying to get the best deal for him financially, and Forest (and clubs abroad) are offering better packages compared to what the Hammers have offered.

Ex further adds that the next 24 hours could be vital. The Guardian reported on 20 July that Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Lingard as they look to sign him on a free transfer.
Easy route
West Ham have had held lengthy talks to bring Lingard to the club, but it seems the player is refusing to lower his wage demands.
The 29-year-old probably understands that he needs to get a fat contract that will give him financial security, but in the process, he has probably failed to see the bigger picture.
He would have been a “massive asset” for the Hammers. David Moyes would have given him the platform to shine again, and it could have opened the door for him to represent his country in the World Cup.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal choice, and it seems Lingard has prioritised finance over anything else.
To be fair, being a free agent, he should have joined a club already. He should have been in pre-season training already, instead of wasting time on social media.
A move to Forest may not work out for him. The newly promoted club could be fighting a relegation battle, and Lingard, even if he plays regularly, would struggle to make a massive impact.
It comes as a big blow for the Hammers but they must move on to other targets.
