Jesse Lingard rejects Manchester United contract after West Ham snub

Jesse Lingard has rejected a new Manchester United contract despite snubbing a summer move to West Ham United in the recent past.

The Times have shared the major update on their website, with six Premier League clubs having interest in the England international.

With less than one year left on Lingard’s deal at Old Trafford, it opens the possibility of a free transfer in the future.

David Moyes could open talks and seal a free agreement from July, although foreign clubs can start plans from January.

Lingard didn’t want to move his family from Manchester to London permanently during the summer, but circumstances could change.

With the Red Devils wanting more than £20million for his signing this summer, that fee could be used to offer major wages.

If the Irons can offer life-changing money and potentially double or at least increase the money Lingard is on, he surely couldn’t say no.

England dream.

Without the Hammers, Lingard would not be in this position of playing for England consistently without his loan spell.

Scoring twice against Andorra over the weekend won’t have done much to change the mind of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer either.

Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived at Old Trafford, and that means he will have no chance of serious minutes this season in the Premier League.

Lingard has to seriously ask himself if he is going to make it into the World Cup squad for England next winter should he continue at this rate, and the answer is likely no.

A move to the London Stadium would surely benefit that again, but it appears as though some sacrifices would have to be made – it could yet happen for free.
