Jesse Lingard hints at West Ham stay in hilarious Sky video
Jesse Lingard has taken part in a video with Sky that could hint at him re-joining West Ham.
The England midfielder returned to parent club Manchester United at the end of the season and his future is up in the air, with no deal yet agreed to continue his stay in East London.
However, the Sky video, in which actor and Hammers fan Tom Davis asks Lingard to stay, suggests a move could still be on the table.
Lingard at least seems open to the potential switch, which means it could be up to West Ham to pay the required fee for the 28-year-old, with Man United likely keen to raise funds to sign their plethora of targets.
Number one priority
No matter what we do this summer signing Lingard has to be the main objective of the transfer window.
He completely transformed the team when he arrived and rejuvenated both the squad and fanbase at a vital point in the season, pushing us on towards Europe.
Lingard himself has been back to his best and even without his goals he has made a key contribution, with his skill and vision creating space and chances for teammates, mainly Michail Antonio.
He perfectly fits our system and is brilliant in both transitioning from defence to attack, and on the counter-attack.
It would be hard to find a similar player on the market, particularly for less than the £25million fee [Eurosport] that has been mooted for Lingard.
We urge David Sullivan and David Gold to pay whatever is necessary for the Manchester United ace.
