Jesse Lingard asks West Ham United for time to think after formal contract offer made

West Ham United have been asked for more time by Jesse Lingard as he ponders over his next move, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has reported that the Hammers made their official contract offer for the free agent as soon as the transfer window opened a couple of weeks ago.

Lingard now needs to make a decision, with numerous offers now on table from other clubs, who wish to officially announce the former Manchester United man.

Speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast on Patreon, Ex shared the latest as stories continue to float around regarding Lingard and the Irons.

“We put in our formal offer, we said this is what we’re prepared to pay you, how do you feel?” he said.

“He’s asked for time to think about it, now other clubs have come in and made their proposals and I don’t know if they’re more or less. At the moment, Jesse has got a decision to make.”

Frustration.

How much more time does one man need?

David Moyes will surely be coming to the end of his rag with Lingard and the saga that appears to have now been going on for more than a year.

West Ham United have made it very clear ever since that loan move at the London Stadium that they want to make this a permanent switch, but yet here we still are.

Surely, if Lingard wanted this move and was ready to give everything to the claret and blue shirt, he would have made up his mind by now.

This is a brilliant deal for GSB and Daniel Kretinsky, who could bring in a player who has been there and done it in the Premier League consistently now for no transfer fee.

Wages don’t seem to be a real problem with the official proposal on the table, let’s hope that he can make up his mind sooner rather than later this summer.

Pre-season is underway, the only question left is will Lingard be joining that camp?
