Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham United Premier League clash v Southampton for Sky Sports
Jeff Stelling has made his prediction for West Ham United’s upcoming Premier League clash against Southampton at the London Stadium this weekend (2 April).
The Hammers head into the game in the relegation zone, one point adrift of safety but with a game in hand, and will come up against a Saints side also in the drop zone and fighting for their lives at the bottom.
And when making his predictions for Super 6 (29 March), Stelling picked the Hammers to get all three points with a 1-0 win which would likely lift them out of the bottom three and have their league position looking much more healthy.

David Moyes is likely to have a mostly fit squad to choose from for the game, with Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta both fit after featuring for their nations during the international break.
Needed
It’s been a long, hard, terrible season so far for West Ham but they have a final chance to kickstart their season and get themselves out of trouble here.
This is a big run of games to come where we desperately need to avoid defeats, but we also need to get wins to get points on the board and move away from the bottom.

The game with Southampton on Sunday is absolutely massive, and realistically there is no doubt that we should be winning this match considering the quality we have in our squad.
But the problem all season has been that Moyes hasn’t been able to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal, which leaves the door open for every single team to come at us and potentially get something.
That won’t be good enough, and there are reports that Moyes is fearing for his job if he loses that game. But hopefully we can find a rhythm and get in gear before Southampton and claim all three points to prove Mr. Stelling right.
