Jarrod Bowen sends message to Ollie Scarles after West Ham loss v Aston Villa
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has sent a message to Oliver Scarles after the loss to Aston Villa on Friday.
The 19-year-old impressed in his first start at senior level for the Hammers in his fourth appearance for the club in the defeat at Villa Park (10 January).
The Irons took the lead through Lucas Paqueta although goals from Amadou Onana and Morgan Rogers eventually turned the tie around but Scarles was given the Player of the Match award.
The England star, who is out of action after suffering a fractured foot in the 5-0 loss to Liverpool, congratulated his young teammate in a story on Instagram, saying: “Well deserved brother.”
Scarles set for big future at West Ham?
The England Under-18 international could be set for a huge future with the Hammers after getting the seal of approval from the captain.
The Irons decision to part ways with Julen Lopetegui and hire Graham Potter could pay off massively for the young star.
Scarles could profit from the change with Potter seemingly set to give academy players opportunities in the new era at the London Stadium.

He has earned his chance with the first-team, the midfielder has notched three goals and an assist in seven Premier League Two matches so far this campaign.
Potter is set to be forced to rely on the academy after the poor spending record of Lopetegui in the summer when the Hammers spent approximately £120 million on players who have struggled to impress so far.
After the impression he made on the new boss and the club captain on Friday, it would not be a surprise to see him get more opportunities in the near future.
