Jarrod Bowen opens up on time with Hull City before West Ham move
West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen says that he will always be grateful to his former club Hull City for his evolution as a player.
After moving to the club from Hereford United, the 25-year-old spent six seasons with the Tigers.
Bowen, while talking on the Ben Foster Podcast, revealed his early struggles before becoming the player he is today currently taking the Premier League by storm.

“I wanted to go to West Brom as it was just an hour from Hereford,” he said. “However, my old man had other ideas and he brought me to Hull. He believed that it is a good club for your development on and off the pitch.
“Looking back at my career, he was not wrong. I have had so many managers during my time at Hull. It was almost like the club was changing managers for every season, but I enjoyed my time there.”

Valuable asset
Bowen had an immensely successful time with Hull City before moving to the London Stadium. The striker made 131 appearances and scored 54 goals along with providing 14 assists during his time at the MKM stadium.
His finest season came in 2018-19 when he scored 22 goals for the Black & White in the Championship.
His performances were enough to start attacking interest from some of the big clubs in England.
West Ham finally managed to acquire the services of Bowen in January 2020 for a reported transfer fee of £19.17 million.
Since then, he has represented the Hammers in 104 matches in all competitions, scoring 27 times and providing 23 assists in the process.
In the recently concluded campaign, the Leominster-born was a real star for the Irons as he netted 18 times and provided 13 assists in 51 matches across all competitions.
It is because of these performances that Bowen is now attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United and West Ham fans will be hoping that their star player will continue his stay in London.
