Jarrod Bowen among ‘elite’ Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah after breaking record in West Ham United v Aston Villa

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen has become just the third player to score in each of the first five away games of a Premier League season, according to Squawka.

The Hammers winger netted in his club’s meeting with Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October), with Unai Emery’s men winning 4-1.

Douglas Luiz scored twice before Bowen’s long-range strike, with Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey then sealing all three points for the hosts.

Bowen has now netted in the away league matches against Bournemouth, Brighton, Luton Town, Liverpool and Villa this season.

Only Arsenal legend Thierry Henry (2001/02) and Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah (2021/22) have achieved the same feat of scoring in the first five away games, as per Squawka (22 October), with Bowen the first Hammers man to do it.

Stunning form

Bowen has undoubtedly been one of the standouts of the current Premier League campaign, with the winger also netting at home to Sheffield United to ensure he has scored six goals.

He is enjoying one of his best spells as a professional footballer, with the former Hull City man recently earning himself a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The attacker was the one player capable of trying to ignite a comeback against Unai Emery’s men at Villa Park, but it wasn’t meant to be as the home side stormed to a superb win.

Hammers boss David Moyes will have a lot of questions for his players, and plenty of questions will be asked of the manager himself, but no one can question Bowen.

The 26-year-old will be keen to continue his fantastic feats for quite some time, and fortunately for the East London club, they have recently tied the winger down to a long-term deal.

In other West Ham news, one Hammers-linked player is weighing up offers, with a European giant “leading the charge” for his signature.
