Jamie O’Hara reacts to Arsenal fans after West Ham United jibe live on talkSPORT

Jamie O’Hara has hit back at an Arsenal fan live on talkSPORT after he fired a jibe at West Ham United following the Hammers win at the Emirates.

David Moyes’ side picked up a third consecutive Premier League win as they beat Arsenal 2-0 on Thursday 28 December, thanks to goals either side of halftime from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

However, the Hammers opener was scored in a controversial fashion as the ball appeared to drift out of play in the build-up and Liam the Arsenal fan called into talkSPORT to slam “little West Ham” and claim the FA are conspiring against the Gunners.

West Ham

Speaking on talkSPORT (29 December) he said: “You can’t be losing 2-0 at home to little West Ham, it’s just not on.”

O’Hara hit back saying: “Little West Ham? That’s a bit harsh. Just quickly while I’ve got you here the goal last night for West Ham, the ball was out.”

Liam replied saying: “100 per cent every day of the week. I’m sat there with a West Ham fan on the sofa and even he’s saying the balls gone out. It’s VAR, I just feel like the FA are against us, you know what I mean, it’s happening constantly.”

O’Hara responded saying: “Liam can you hear this? That’s Arsenal tears this morning.”

Even it up

Whether or not the ball drifted out of play at the Emirates on Thursday is open to debate as the angles broadcast on television made it very hard to see just how much of the ball remained over the pitch line.

Ultimately, these sorts of contentious decisions tend to level themselves out over the course of the season and while Moyes’ side benefited from it against Arsenal, they are just as likely to have a similar decision go against them next time out.

While the Arsenal fan was trying to just ruffle a few feathers with his “little West Ham” jibe, the Hammers are once again proving to be a very serious force in the Premier League this season. If the Irons keep picking up these sorts of results, they’ll be in the fight for European football again.

With wins over Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea already this season, Moyes’ side are showing that they are one of the big teams in the Premier League. Nobody will want to face the Irons at the moment.

In other West Ham news, sources close to the Irons have rubbished suggestions that Pablo Fornals could leave in the January window
