Jamie O’Hara face palms at what West Ham United fan said live on air
Jamie O’Hara was left with his head in his hands after a West Ham fan suggested David Moyes wouldn’t have picked up a draw against Bournemouth.
Julen Lopetegui picked up a 1-1 draw at the Vitality on Monday [16 December], with Lucas Paqueta’s opener from the penalty spot cancelled out by Eres Unal.
The talkSPORT pundit could not believe the claim, saying that he saw that level of performance under Moyes all of the time at the London Stadium.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [16 December], O’Hara said: “I’m sorry, mate, I’m not having that. I’m sorry, mate, I can’t accept that.
“I can’t accept that. I saw those performances under Moyes all the time. Going away from home and playing well. You haven’t gone there and won 4-0. You drew 1-1.”
West Ham United did nothing special against Bournemouth
The Hammers were decent against a side in the top half of the table, but Lopetegui didn’t produce anything special on the day.
While the London Stadium faithful felt Moyes was conservative in his approach, the Spanish manager has failed to improve on what the Scotsman did at the East London club.
The 58-year-old head coach hasn’t been able to bring the best out of a squad with much more quality than past seasons.
West Ham could only take the lead against Bournemouth after a well-taken Paqueta penalty, and one could argue that Andoni Iraola’s team had the better chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Unal’s free kick in the 90th minute earned Bournemouth a point, a fair reflection of the overall game.
While Moyes didn’t have the Irons playing the most attractive football, he ended the Hammers’ 43-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa Conference League.
Lopetegui still has a long way to go, and failure to get all three points against Brighton and a struggling Southampton would surely put his future under the spotlight again.
In other West Ham news, Ally McCoist was baffled by what Konstantinos Mavropanos did against Bournemouth.
