Jamie O’Hara discusses David Moyes future at West Ham United, Ray Winstone responds live on talkSPORT
Ray Winstone believes David Moyes has done a “wonderful job” at West Ham despite his on-air rant about him following the defeat to Liverpool on 20 December.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (28 December), pundit Jamie O’Hara said the Hammers boss comes under a “bit of stick all the time” and faces questions about his future as he admitted the Scotsman is doing a “great job”.
Responding to those claims, actor Winstone, who is an Irons fan, revealed that he’d “had enough” of watching the East Londoners during their 5-1 loss to the Reds, but he added that he is a “great fan” of the 60-year-old manager following the success he’s achieved at the London Stadium.

“Massive game tonight for West Ham,” said O’Hara ahead of the game against Arsenal on Thursday. “David Moyes comes under a bit of stick all the time, talking about his contract and his future. I think he’s doing a great job.”
“I’m a great fan of David Moyes,” responded Winstone. “I had a bit of a rant about him the other day. For me, you go to Liverpool, quarter-finals of the cup, a chance to go to the semi-finals, you’ve got to put out your best team.
“To change six players from the Wolves game was wrong, it was just totally wrong for me. At 3-1 down, I’d had enough. It was like, in future just tell us you’re going to do that and 6,000 fans won’t bother going up there. It was like a surrender before the game had even started.
“But having said that, I am a great fan of David Moyes. I think he’s done a wonderful job.”
Strange situation
It is quite a strange situation for West Ham fans to be in because the football hasn’t been that great, but the results have been excellent on the whole lately.
The performance and the defeat against Liverpool was completely unacceptable, though, as it left a sour test after all those fans travelled up to Merseyside expecting to see their team give it a good go.
But that disappointment was then backed up by a superb victory over Manchester United to put the Hammers temporarily into the top six in the Premier League.

It is difficult to judge Moyes based on the league position and the qualification to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, but some of the fans just want to see a better brand of football from their side.
It will be another big test for the Irons when they make the trip to face Arsenal, who will be looking to secure a win that will take them back up to the top of the league.
In other West Ham news, Arsenal have deliberately tried to annoy Hammers fans in a social media post.
