Jamie O’Hara can’t help but laugh at ‘damning’ West Ham fan live on Sky Sports

West Ham’s Premier League status is under real threat this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo is now under immense pressure as West Ham sit five points adrift from Premier League safety in 18th place.

He has only managed two wins in 13 matches, with both victories coming at the London Stadium, and there seems to be no hope for some fans who have already accepted relegation.

West Ham are losing the relegation battle with Leeds picking up points in December, and the January transfer window marks the biggest moment where the Hammers can influence their fate.

However, the Irons have recruited terribly in recent seasons, and Jamie O’Hara found it amusing when a West Ham supporter had a go at David Sullivan on Monday.

Jamie O’Hara can only laugh at West Ham’s situation

Sullivan is under intense pressure from West Ham fans, and the recruitment over the last decade simply hasn’t been good enough.

The Hammers are in desperate need of several players, and it’s up to Sullivan to heavily invest in the January transfer window.

Speaking on Sky Sports on 29 December, West Ham fan Gary Killington didn’t hold back on his assessment of West Ham’s fortunes.

He said: “The squad is a mismatch of different players with different styles who all belong to different managers, and it’s all down to the self-appointed director of football Sullivan.

O’Hara couldn’t contain his laughter and replied: “That’s a damning indictment right there.”

While the former Spurs player-turned-pundit may find it amusing, West Ham supporters are becoming more miserable with every week that passes in E20.

Crysencio Summerville has been poor on the left wing, and while a replacement is needed, the striker position remains the most important issue to address.

West Ham are in dire need of a striker to fire them to safety

Niclas Fullkrug is on his way out, and Nuno doesn’t value the impact Callum Wilson has made in a West Ham shirt.

Jarrod Bowen is top scorer with only five goals, which simply isn’t enough if they want to survive this season.

The Portuguese manager has valued the presence of a strong, physical striker in his team, getting the best out of Chris Wood and Raul Jimenez in the past.

It’s clear that the Hammers are crying out for a goalscorer who can also link up the play, and Bowen needs a striker with good hold-up play to allow him to make runs in behind.

Defensive additions are also needed, but without someone they can count on in the final third, West Ham’s 14-year stay in the top flight will come to an end.
