Jamie Carragher sends Declan Rice tweet after West Ham star trends on Twitter
Declan Rice was the talk of Twitter on Tuesday night as the West Ham midfielder showcased his personality and confidence online once again.
The 22-year-old joined in the latest Twitter phenomenon with the ‘Sing your dialect’ challenge on the social media platform, whereby users join a ‘space’ and sing a song of their choosing in their local accent.
Essentially, it is a viral karaoke party where others listen in while someone sings.
Rice performed ‘Rice Rice Baby’ to the tune of ‘Ice Ice Baby’, with the England international trending and impressing Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.
The ex-Liverpool star wrote to Rice via his personal Twitter profile: “Brilliant.”
Rice is nothing if not confident.
The West Ham vice-captain was quick to join in the fun on Twitter and his performance seemed to go down a treat online.
Carragher was one impressed listener and it follows on from the Liverpool legend naming Rice as someone he would like to see partake in some punditry, during an interview on Gary Neville’s ‘The Overlap’.
In a time when footballers are criticised for hiding their true selves and handing their social media accounts over to companies, Rice is someone that has stuck out and gained popularity for his bubbly character and down-to-earth nature.
There are some sceptics who claim that one must be entirely focused on football and avoid any distractions around it.
Rice is the perfect example of why that doesn’t always have to be the case as he continues to thrive on the pitch and off it.
