Jamie Carragher predicts scoreline of West Ham United v Aston Villa Premier League clash
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted the result and the scoreline as West Ham travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October).
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Super Six, the former Liverpool captain has predicted the Villans to secure a 2-1 victory over the Hammers in the Premier League.
Both teams have started the season strongly and find themselves in the top half of the table.
Tough one
It’s not going to be an easy one to call as Villa have done incredibly well this season and Unai Emery has made them really hard to beat.
They’ve also made some impressive signings and on their day, they can fancy themselves to go toe to toe against any side.
West Ham, too, are not going to be pushovers here and David Moyes knows that even a point from this fixture is going to be priceless.
There’s no reason to believe that the Hammers will not go there and look for the win.
However, given how Moyes sets his side up, the main focus will be on preventing goals from being conceded as the Villa attackers are in red hot form.
Ollie Watkins has been doing well recently and it will take some doing to keep him at bay but the Hammers surely will have a plan in mind.
