James Collins reacts as Kurt Zouma starts in West Ham v Watford

James Collins has suggested that West Ham have made a huge call by starting with Kurt Zouma against Watford in the Premier League on Tuesday (08 February).

Zouma is currently facing the wrath of the public after he was seen to eb kicking and slapping his domestic cat, caught on a video.

The club have condemned this behaviour, and that the player reportedly will face an internal disciplinary hearing.

However, having not signed a defender in January, David Moyes is left with little choice but to play Zouma for this game as picked up a strong side.

Collins has suggested that it’s a wrong decision taken by the club, and that Zouma should have got some sort of sanction.

“I think there is a lot of anger about [Kurt Zouma being picked to play] and rightly so,” said Collins on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It’s a big call from the football club, I personally don’t think it is the right call.

“I don’t think the club should have made him available for the game. I think there should be some sort of sanction against him.

“It’s a huge call from the club but in my opinion they have got it wrong.”

Absolute farce

Has David Moyes totally lost his mind?

Zouma is currently on the police radar after footage brought before by The Sun seemed to show him kicking his own pet.

He is also found throwing objects at his cat, and slapping the animal.

This is such disgusting behaviour, and although he has issued a public apology, that doesn’t mean it warrants him a starting line-up.

The club is bigger than any player. Moyes has prioritised football here but the club lost its chance to set an example.

They shouldn’t have lost their moral compass. These are the incidents that should be dealt with severity.

A game can be won or lost. The image of the club is much more than three points.

It’s simply unacceptable. Zouma shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team for this game, and he should have been punished.

In other West Ham news, Karren Brady has been in talks with an ex-ally over a major signing at the club.
