Italian media reacts to Gianluca Scamacca’s performance for West Ham United during win v Anderlecht
Gianluca Scamacca continued his superb form for West Ham on Thursday evening – scoring the only goal of the game to beat Anderlecht.
Scamacca added another victory and another goal for West Ham, and David Moyes’ side now boasts a 100% win record in the Europa Conference League thanks to the 1-0 win over Anderlecht.
Scamacca was named as a substitute but came on with around 10 minutes to go alongside Lucas Paqueta – a duo that would end up turning the tide for West Ham.

Paqueta found Scamacca in space and the 23-year-old found the bottom corner, just a few days after his goal against Wolves in the Premier League.
Italian media were quick to the scene to deliver their verdict on Scamacca’s performance.
La Gazzetta dello Sport labelled Scamacca’s substitution as a “decisive” moment in the match and praised the forward for “two fundamental goals in five days” for West Ham.
Football.Italia hailed Scamacca for a “splendid individual effort” following a “tricky pass” from teammate Paqueta.
Finally, Diretta.it covered the game via a live blog and said Scamacca kept composed and finished with a “great coldness” when presented with an opportunity.
Red hot iron
Scamacca is in superb form for the Hammers, and has surely justified a starting spot in Moyes’ XI.
He’s in far better form than Michail Antonio, and has proved to be a worthy match-winner in multiple games.

With West Ham desperately needing points following a poor start to the season, Moyes needs to put faith in his new signing and start him on the weekend against Fulham.
Moyes’ plan was clearly to bed Scamacca in at West Ham by first introducing him during European games, but the truth is that many of last season’s stars have struggled for form in the Premier League, and Scamacca has hit the ground running.
It’s time for the Scot to unleash his £35million signing in the league and help the Hammers climb back up to where they belong.
Paqueta is another who looked very settled during his cameo against Anderlecht. He and Scamacca have created a good partnership already and could be a deadly combo going forward.
