Internal talks update as West Ham United eye move for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams

Leeds United will be having internal talks with Tyler Adams in the next few weeks with West Ham and Aston Villa keen, claims Ben Jacobs.

The CBS Sports journalist told Give Me Sport [15 July] that there are Premier League sides keen on signing the 24-year-old.

He also said that the Hammers will be keeping tabs on his type of midfielder, given Declan Rice has recently joined Arsenal.

West Ham Declan Rice

Jacobs said, “I think that there are Premier League suitors very seriously looking at Adams.

“I would keep one eye on West Ham United, who are obviously in the market for that kind of player. And I think that Aston Villa are also another club to watch very seriously in this as well.

“Because Adams has come back from injury and because the new manager has come in, there’ll be a lot of internal talks over the coming weeks now to understand his future and Leeds’ plan.”

Just what they need

Adams may not be as good or complete as Rice, but he certainly got plenty of similarities to the England international.

He’s good at breaking up play, bringing the ball out from defence and dictating the tempo.

He may not be as experienced as Rice in the Premier League but if there is a player from Leeds that needs to be signed this summer, it’s Adams.

West Ham

The American is only 24 and it’ll be a good investment if West Ham can successfully secure the midfielder’s services this summer.

As Leeds are relegated, they’ll get him for a decent transfer fee as well and given the fact that there are other areas of the squad that need strengthening, it would be a boon if they get him on the cheap.

Leeds will certainly play hardball to keep Adams but at the end of the day, if he forces a move, they will have little say in the matter.

In other West Ham news, a super-rich club has launched an enquiry into a star player who could follow Declan Rice out of the door as his agent may engineer a transfer.
