Injury expert shares early West Ham United team news ahead of Premier League clash v Tottenham

West Ham United could be without seven players due to injury for the upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham on Sunday (19 February), according to Ben Dinnery.

The Hammers will look to extend their three-match Premier League unbeaten run at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but David Moyes could be without a string of first-team regulars.

Writing for the Premier Injuries website, injury expert Dinnery shared that Kurt Zouma, Maxwell Cornet, Gianluca Scamacca and Alphonse Areola are all “ruled out” of the clash.

West Ham

Aaron Cresswell has a “50%” chance of featuring after picking up an illness, while Moroccan centre-back Nayef Aguerd has a “25%” chance of playing after sustaining a thigh injury in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend.

Lucas Paqueta, meanwhile, has just a “25%” chance of playing against Spurs due to a shoulder injury he picked up in the opening minutes of Saturday’s (11 February) match.

Just as Moyes’ side were beginning to find their stride and start to play some promising football, they have been struck by a torrid run of injuries to key players.

Scamacca up front was initially a big blow, but the pair of injuries that Aguerd and Paqueta picked up against Chelsea are a hammer blow to the team’s chances in the coming weeks.

The Brazilian playmaker has seemingly just begun to find his feet in the Premier League following a tough first few months, with his goal against Newcastle capping off a promising start to the New Year.

But alongside defensive leader Aguerd, Moyes has probably his two most influential players behind Declan Rice sidelined for at least a week.

West Ham are likely to face a resurgent Spurs side after they were battered 4-1 by Leicester City, and the likes of Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer will have to be at their very best to keep Harry Kane at bay.
