Ibrahim Osman ideal Said Benrahma upgrade David Moyes needs at West Ham United

West Ham appear to be closing in on the services of Ibrahim Osman and he looks set to become their second signing of the summer.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has reported that after Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, the Hammers want to sign the 19-year-old Ghanaian winger.

The negotiations are understood to be advancing for a fee in the region of £15million.

Sheth reported on Twitter: “Talks advancing between West Ham United and Nordsjaelland over the signing of winger Ibrahim Osman. Fee understood to be in the region of £15m.”

Osman appears to be a teenager with a sky-high potential and the Hammers appear extremely keen on securing his services.

The interest came to light only recently and now the fact that they’re this advanced suggests that there’s an urgency to get this deal done.

The Hammers need to act quickly as they have been beaten to signings like this despite making progress in negotiations.

While the fee appears to be a tad steep as he’s not been proven outside Nordsjaelland, he is understood to be a pacey winger who’s capable of wreaking havoc down the left wing.

With Said Benrahma’s struggles, it seems like the Hammers hierarchy views him as an upgrade on the under-performing Algerian.

It’s fair to say that his time at the London Stadium has been underwhelming and a quick fix is needed in that role.

Target Scouting have even emphasised on how good a player Osman is off the ball in a report they did on him in August 2023.

They wrote: “From a defensive point of view, he is a player with an excellent ability to react to loss and who shows psychological and physical availability for these moments.”

Only time will say whether or not he’s the right one in that role for the Hammers, but early signs suggest that he may be worth the outlay and this deal is something that should excite all West Ham fans.
